Sherwick started riding motocross in high school and has owned
2-strokes from Kawasaki, Yamaha and Honda. After a 20-year hiatus, he
restarted his passion for motorcycles by riding on the street for a year
followed by 3 years of trackdays and riding schools
before deciding to try his hand at road racing. In 2004, he got his racing
license with the American Federation of Motorcyclists, also known as the AFM
(www.afmracing.org). He chose an Italian twin superbike for his ride and
finished the 2005 season as 2nd novice and 11th in the
Formula Twins Open Class championship out of 52 (see results). Since then he has taken to
flat tracking for training and in 2008 attained his AMA Pro Racing Expert license. In 2010, he placed 2nd
in the Formula Twins Open Class of the newly revived California State
Championship. |
